THE BRAVE TIN SOLDIER. Hans Christian Andersen.
My classmate Amanda and I made a summary of the story and we told it for the class.
Our summary:
Once upon a time, there was a tin soldier with only one leg. He fell in love with a little dancer, like himself, with only one leg. "That is the wife for me" he thought.
- "Tin soldier" said the goblin, "don't wish for what does not belong to you"
But the tin soldier pretended not to hear.
- Very well; wait till to-morrow, then" said the goblin.
When the children came the next morning they placed the tin soldier in the window and out fell the tin soldier. Suddenly 2 boys appear and they made a boat out of a newspaper and placed the tin soldier in it. He fell in a water and he was swallowed up by a great fish. The fish had been caught and sold at hte market. The children's cook buy the fish and they found the tin soldier inside.
Next day, the little dancer fluttered into the fire and was instantly in flames, the tin soldier jumped into the fire with her and they melted into heart of tin. And so they lived happily ever after.
